Clubs: 4th-12th grade
Drama Club: Students learn improvisation and acting techniques that they use as the rehearse their skits throughout the year. Students make scenery sets and stage props. They write, direct, produce and act in dramas, comedies, action-packed plays and skits which they will perform on Parents’ Night once a year. By writing and performing different character roles and acting out different scenarios, children have the chance to experience a few moments in another person’s shoes. As the students work on dramatizing a character in a role, they are trying to feel another person’s emotions as they work at portraying that character. They are learning to see something from their character’s perspective as they walk through that character’s choices, consequences, and/or rewards. Drama Club is actually more than a fun expressive outlet. It has the potential to aid in increasing your student’s capacity for growth in compassion, sensitivity, and understanding for others which then nurtures and supports an environment conducive for producing the Fruits of the Spirit!
Entrepreneurs Club: Students learn about money, saving, planning, products, inventions, marketing, sales, taxes, starting a business, and multiplying their “fruits”. They will brainstorm/intercommunicate their ideas with each other. They will have many opportunities during the school year to explore entrepreneurship through Kids' Markets and other events that we partner with where they can sell their products/creations. This club aims to encourage students’ to take initiative with their smart little (and big) heads screwed tightly on their shoulders as they march forward on their paths to successfully becoming the person that God has uniquely created each of them to be.
Creations Club: Students are given challenging activities to complete that push their imaginations and creativity, teaching them how to think outside the box. Here, they will learn team building, leadership skills, and strategies in problem-solving, lending to their ability to more confidently maneuver through some of life’s challenges that they will experience as they grow. Whether those challenges be the average day-to-day obstacles or the monumental hurdles to be overcome. This club can help to reinforce that God has not given them a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind and because of that they can accomplish great things when they apply their minds both as part of a team and as an individual.
