AMBASSADORS: 9th-12th GRADERS

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

CLASSES

BIBLE LESSON: We have prayer and a Bible lesson each morning.

CULINARY ARTS: 1 elective credit, full year class

HOME ECONOMICS/ LIFE SKILLS:  1 elective credit, full year class

SCIENCE: Botany, 1 credit, full year class

MATH: Bring your own curriculum

SOCIAL STUDIES: World History from Master Books.

LITERATURE CP: We will read books together and have lessons

CLUBS: Art Club, Entrepreneurs Club, Drama Club, 

Clubs are chosen to build confidence and success. We create opportunities for creations and inventions to be sold, teach advertising and more!

Self-guided lessons are posted for the entire week! Fridays are mostly open for review or tests. DYA provides lessons for the entire week, families have freedom to decide how, when or if they would like to use them.

All books, student books and materials for classes must be purchased before classes start on August 19th, 2025. Please bring all materials to class. Everyone will bring their laptops or tablets the first week of classes for set up.

For BIBLE CLASS: We start the day with prayer and a Bible lesson. Bible lessons come from passages we read straight from Scripture. We learn the meanings, context, and usage of Hebrew and Greek words in those passages to more clearly understand the meaning(s) of what we read. We also have review and jeopardy games.

For HOME ECONOMICS CLASS: Home Economics will be on Tuesdays. Teaching useful and practical skills like household management, light sewing, financial literacy, herbalism and home remedies from Forgotten Home Apothecary by Dr. Nicole Apelian and more to prepare students for the real world. 2 lessons each week, one in class and one at home.

> You will need a plain journal for Home Economics for your portfolio. No other books necessary.

For CULINARY ARTS CLASS: Culinary Arts class will be held on Wednesdays at DYA. In this class we will explore cooking, baking, nutrition and more! 2 lessons each week, one in class and one at home.

We complete literature together. We learn literary devices, read books, write papers, have tests and take quizzes. Instructors use a High School Literature Curriculum.

A calculator (make sure you have the correct calculator for your child's math course). We remove cell phones at the beginning of each day, but keep them close for emergencies or times of need. This means students should bring a calculator instead of using their phone for one.

  • Never worry about late fees, admin or registration fees! We wave all fees for those paying for the year or half of the year in full. You will also receive a 5% discount. 
  • A material list: Read each class carefully to make sure you have all the curriculum books and materials necessary. 
  • Each student will need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle.  
  • We are not a peanut or other allergy free facility. If your child has dietary needs, please contact us directly.

We are here to assist in your child's education. Parents are ultimately responsible for their child's education. Please check with your accountability association about issuing high school credits.
